When I used to use the site a few years back, they’d actually send out surveys after the products and you would get paid a few bucks if you took the survey. That was on top of getting the product. So maybe they changed somethings now. I haven’t used the site in a while.
Since leaving a review is optional, you can also buy credits for $1 if you do not wish to leave a review or want to supplement your credit balance after leaving a review. You can also earn credits by referring friends to join Dollar Deal Reviews.
When you give shoppers all of the information they’re looking for — including ratings and reviews — they’re more likely to convert. At PowerReviews, we’ve found that when a product without reviews adds one or more reviews, the conversion rate for that product increases by 65%, on average.
I agree with the comment above. This corrupt alliance between a buy and seller of a product, where a seller is bribing a buyer to give them a positive review has completely ruined product reviews at Amazon. 99 out of 100 people who take the bribe are going to give the product a positive review because they want the next seller who is going to bribe them to see that they will get the same positively biased review. I just finished looking at a product that I know is a piece of garbage. There were dozens of reviews from people who got it free or discounted through this system and every one of them was either 4 or 5 stars and a glowing review. But ever single person who wasn’t involved in that kind of shady deal gave it 1 or 2 stars and said it was complete junk. I know the product. It is a total ripoff and more like a scam than a product. Yet review after review from those who claimed they were giving an “honest” review said it was the best thing since sliced raisin bread. Yeah right! So this piece of junk had a 4+ star rating because of all the fake “honest” reviewers who cooked the numbers and fooled who knows how many people into getting ripped off by that scam. This is a dishonest form of promotion. No honest company would ever engage in such an unethical arrangement.
At the same time, one of our readers, Tracy, who had commented a while back about the site, joined the site and came back to share her experience. And her experience is basically aligned with my thoughts. See Tracy’s comment here.
I do the same thing, I’ll generally look at the 3 Star Reviews as well, those people seem to be most critical about the product. “It is good, but…” are my favorite ones because they point out parts or issues of the product you don’t think of.
You can test eight different types of their products ranging from cleanser to moisturizer to sunscreen. Most products cost $1.95 each after you use the discount code sent to you by email. It is free to join the Oz Naturals VIP email list.
4. Do not speed through a survey that the brands send you. Product testing Panels cannot use your survey if they noticed that you rushed through it. Your survey will look like your answers are untruthful and cannot be used which will lead you to getting removed from program and money you earned is forfeited.
Just in case anyone needs to fill out a 1099 forms, I found a blank forms in this site PDFfiller. This site also has some tutorials on how to fill it out and a tons of fillable tax forms that you might find useful. Here is a blank 1099-MISC that I was able to fill out http://goo.gl/cfrBuF.
Amazon’s Vine Program is an invite-only group of reviewers that receive products for free in exchange for impartial reviews. They will often receive products before they are released. Amazon explains its purpose:
As of May 6, users’ product reviews will be displayed on all eligible listings. A listing is reviewable if it is adopted to a product or is a multi-quantity listing. Not all multi-quantity listings are eligible. Sellers are not required to take any action. For more information please read eBay’s product review guidelines.
6. Say thank you! One of my all time favorite books, How to Win Friends and Influence People (I swear, I’m not a self-help junkie, this is an eccentricity in my library), notes that all people crave sincere appreciation. Be sure to follow-up and thank the top Amazon reviewers for their thoughtful review – with sincerity of course!
You could copy/paste the product description and it would let you know the % possibility that the product was shilled/confirm that it has been shilled? Hell, what if it could strip the shill reviews and re-score the product? Maybe all this could popup in a little browser plugin?
The Result? Online reviewers, journalists, bloggers, and podcasters meet product promoters, marketers, public relations, and publicity pros, to help each other find new products and review them online. Hopefully this now includes you, too!
Hello, this is a very interesting article! Thank you for the information. I am not a seller but am a reviewer. I get contacted by companies to purchase their product at 99% off or at an even higher discount in exchange for an honest review of their product. I feel this is a great way for people like me to point out the best parts of the product (even the parts that aren’t so great) and help the buyer make the right decision when purchasing the product through reviews. Thank you for the information again and i just wish there were a website reviewers could go to to contact sellers who need people to Leave an honest review of their products.. Any recommendations??
Janet, Make sure there is nothing else in your cart, most codes will not work if there is. If it does not ‘apply’ and gives you an error message there are several things different options you can try.

When you want to try out an item on Product Elf, you click the “Get Coupon” button. Some sellers have their products setup for instant approval while others need to be manually approved by the seller. Once your request is reviewed and approved, you will be emailed the coupon.
What explains that dynamic? It boils down to the fact that there are more than 2 million third-party merchants selling through Amazon, all eager to catch the eyes of online shoppers. A higher rating can pull in more business.
To test products full time you can become a product review blogger like me by joining companies looking for bloggers to review their products on blogs. I did a blog post about it and here is the link http://www.productreviewmom.com/2013/11/how-to-become-product-review-blogger.html
@lee_fyock:disqus Products have trouble standing on their own because we’ve all trained ourselves to be biased against anything “new”, and need the consensus of many others to overcome that. While that’s generally great, it does mean new products and brands a hard time getting the initial momentum they need to get the more organic word-of-mouth going, even if they are delivering something of real quality.
