Reviews can also help you better understand your products. You can spend hours using a product, but chances are customers will notice things you never would. That means your customers can give you great feedback, ideas for improvements, or even incredible marketing ideas!
3. I doubt I will ever be asked to be a Vine Reviewer but I am enjoying reviewing several products. Tristan (and any other reviewers reading this), would please take a couple of minutes of your time to look at some of my reviews and give me constructive feedback? I am not the greatest writer and appreciate any help you would offer.
I’m not sure how long the requests will continue to come in, and for now I will continue for as long as I am enjoying it, although I find that I am having to dedicate 1- 2 days per week at the moment solely to write the reviews which I don’t mind at all and find has been great as I took a career break a couple of years ago to stay at home so having a informal but “work like” structure a couple of days a week has been very enjoyable for me.
The best way to frame the review is by highlighting the value your product adds to your customer’s life. Once you frame the review this way, you can ask them to share their experience with the rest of the world.
Please can u suggest some websites for Indian users.. i found ur blog useful! but mostly the products are for US or other western countries. Please tell me genuine product testing websites for us. I live in India.
It all depends on your demographic what companies are looking for. Some people get a lot of product testing invites and some don’t get hardly any. Remember although you’re just getting surveys right now those points you’re making can be cashed in for money, gift cards, and merchandise, so it’s a win-win!
Just as asking for a review as soon as a customer purchases a product isn’t effective, neither it is to take too long to do it. Because of that, I would like to share a 3-email follow-up sequences you can borrow for your own campaigns. Just make sure you modify this structure to suit your own product and company’s message.
One fatal flaw in *any* commentary on items that are purchased vs. items that are offered in exchange for review is that it assumes a higher quality review will come from someone who has paid. Some of the worst reviews come from people who bought products because they felt no obligation to really test them, but rated them based on something trivial – such as the product not being the size they wanted or lacking a feature they wanted even though it was never advertised as having that feature and measurements were given clearly. People review DVDs not based on the media, packaging, or value, but on how well they liked the content and wanting to promote their favorite program.
It’s funny that Amazon tried to sue many websites for doing exactly this. You can still buy amazon reviews at sites like https://launchzon.com/ but I guess they gave up on lawsuits and are just trying to make an extra buck like this now. Way to go Amazon!
1. Create a tracking system. You will need to identify and track to whom you are going to send your book or product. Not everyone that you contact will respond found about 50 percent of the people do), and of the people who respond about 50 percent of them will ultimately do a review. That means about one out of four people you identify will post a review (based on my experience), which is not too shabby. To track everyone, I use a simple Google Spreadsheet.
Important: Before you can post a review, you need to have an Amazon.com account that has successfully been charged for the purchase of a physical or digital item. Free digital downloads don’t qualify. You don’t need to have purchased the product you’re reviewing. There’s a 48-hour waiting period after your first physical order has been completely shipped, or your digital item has been purchased, before you’ll be able to submit your review. If you’ve purchased a digital gift for someone else, the 48-hour waiting period doesn’t begin until the gift has been redeemed.
Tell them that you’re hoping for an honest review of the product, although no obligation is required. Many won’t respond to your email, and probably only around half will review the product you send, but that’s the name of the game. Yes, it’s risky. But if your product is awesome and you know it can earn great reviews, a few 5 star ratings from these top Amazon reviewers will be HUGE.
This is another exclusive review program that requires an invite in order to sign up. Click through and use the application form we found to apply for your invitation. Since FAQs are closed to members, info is limited at this time. (Likely) available for reviewers in USA.
I am so tired of reading reviews from people that rcv the prodcuts for a discount/free – so many of them are obviously paid/fake since the reviewers clearly have never used the product. I immediately downvote any review where I see a disclaimer about a person receiving the product at a discount/free. I don’t care about the various programs that amazon runs…VINE or otherwise. Rarely do I see a person give less than a 3star rating on a ‘discount/free’ product. Amazon should create two rating systems: a verified buyer rating and a ‘shill rating’.
Companies first ask if I have a Prime account—which means I can get free shipping. When I say yes and agree to review their product, I receive a coupon code for 100% off the price. I order the item as I normally do, use the code and get it 2 days later.
Products offered include books, computer accessories, electronics, apps, cameras, housewares, clothing, video games, toys, food, sports equipment, music, beauty products, software, and services of all kinds.
As of May 6, users’ product reviews will be displayed on all eligible listings. A listing is reviewable if it is adopted to a product or is a multi-quantity listing. Not all multi-quantity listings are eligible. Sellers are not required to take any action. For more information please read eBay’s product review guidelines.
Blue Ribbons Review also has an extensive marketplace with discounts of at least 50%. You can also receive exclusive deals through their email that can be higher than those listed on the website. And, you can request products you currently do not see on their site as well.
Wonderful blog, thank you so much for sharing all of this great information! Hope you didn’t mind me jumping in and replying to some of the user questions. Sometimes I just can’t help myself, it is like an addiction. 🙂
I realize you may not know the rule, so hopefully you’ll see that I’m providing you a valuable piece of information so you may adjust accordingly. As of now, I will not report this to Amazon as long as you reply to confirm that you understand, so please reply and let me know that you understand why I can’t do what you’re asking until I have used your product.
Note: It can take up to 3 days after the order is completed or canceled for the “Leave seller feedback” button to appear next to the order in Your Orders page. You have 90 days from the date of your order to leave your rating and comments.
These changes will apply to all product categories other than books, as Amazon has always allowed advance copies of books to be distributed, the retailer notes. Amazon also says it has other ideas about making Vine more useful in the future, but didn’t go into detail.
