Joe, this isn’t true. I have been selling for a month and have had three 5 star reviews, by people I work with, that all bought from their own account, from a different IP address, and the reviews went up for a week or so, then they all have been taken down. The reviews were up for a few days, then they disappeared. How does this happen? On top that, I sold about 50 products and started moving up the ranking, then I got a 1 star review from someone that didn’t even buy the product, and it has been there for three weeks. Now my product is not selling. Apparently the bad review worked. Also, why didn’t any of the 50 people that bought my product review it? Amazon needs to make it easier for new people to sell products. The top sellers could get a couple people to give their competition bad reviews, and “goodbye competition.”
Not necessarily. Just becouse a site asks for your information, doesn’t make them legit or a scam. That said, Product Report Card is more of a survey and reward site than a product testing company. You can earn a little side money taking surveys and completing offers. It’s a legitimate site, but as always, you have to be realistic. It won’t replace your day job. Just a fun way to earn a few dollars in your free time.
I turned to two sites, Fakespot and ReviewMeta, which use publicly available review metadata and algorithms to try to suss out which reviews are “unreliable” or “unnatural.” The Samcable listing with 673 total reviews got a grade of F from Fakespot, with it declaring that 100 percent of the reviews were “low-quality.” After discarding what its algorithm determined were untrustworthy reviews, it adjusted that 4.6 average rating down to a 0.0 rating. ReviewMeta wasn’t much kinder. The highly rated Samcables went from an average review score of 4.6 to 1.1 using ReviewMeta’s criteria, deeming only 81 reviews out of the 673 not unnatural in some way.

Another problem in not having any control over who takes the coupons is that not all reviewers are sane people. My products are good. Less than 5% of the reviews have 3 stars. All the rest are 4 or 5 stars. But someone gave me a 2 star. When I looked at this person’s other reviews, I saw that she habitually gives bad reviews to products that generally receive good reviews. She is obviously a disgruntled or maybe careless/thoughtless/jealous individual. Had I seen her track record I would never have approved her to receive my product.
I finally remembered to respond to this! I just wrote this email to a Seller. They reached out to me with something I wasn’t interested in, so I found an item in their store I was interested in reviewing (and had a need for.) The URL to the product has been redacted, but you get the point.
Love to read your post here. As a Chinese reader from China, the words from your post are better than those official page provided by amazon for me. lol…. I haven`t selling on amazon yet(I own an individual online store: itead.cc), but it will come soon. Your post is helpful for me to sell my products on amazon in the future. But now, there is also exist one question in my brain, that is how to let reviewers write something for my online site. Because I also want to my site get more visitors. Could you help me with this? If your could tell me some sites or blog for products, I will much appreciated for your help. Many Thanks!
You can test eight different types of their products ranging from cleanser to moisturizer to sunscreen. Most products cost $1.95 each after you use the discount code sent to you by email. It is free to join the Oz Naturals VIP email list.
I often rely on Amazon product reviews when I make a purchase. This article is 7 years old. I certainly hope that if it is no longer relevant, that Amazon still monitors reviews for fraudulent entries.
6. Say thank you! One of my all time favorite books, How to Win Friends and Influence People (I swear, I’m not a self-help junkie, this is an eccentricity in my library), notes that all people crave sincere appreciation. Be sure to follow-up and thank the top Amazon reviewers for their thoughtful review – with sincerity of course!
There’s one review in particular that stands out to me. It wasn’t a Vine member who wrote it, so it may not be relevant, but it’s the first review for a popular product that has thousands of reviews for it. This review was entertaining to read and has received hundreds of “Yes” votes saying it was helpful. The problem I have with it is that I own the product, and while the review was entertaining, it was very inaccurate. In this particular case, I don’t think it’s merely a matter of the reviewer having a different opinion, because many things written are factually inaccurate, and it was important information. And yet, the review is #1 out of thousands of others on Amazon.
The whole point of the Vine program is to get early reviews; that’s what vendors pay Amazon for (and it’s not cheap to get your product in the Vine program). But I, too, update reviews when something goes wrong, sometimes six months after the initial review.
The problem is that AmzRC does not give you any control over who snags your coupons. One person can grab a lot of them and then resell them. This is theft and a double whammy. Once you lose money when you sell your products heavily discounted and you lose again when he steals your customers with your own free or discounted product.
I have no idea if this helped anyone, but it would have helped me. I think in most of my reviews I have approached them as such, and will likely continue to do so. To me the key to any review is to stand out as offering a critique or kudo, that isn’t what has already been said. Otherwise, just click a star rating and move on.
, King County Case No. 15-2-08579-4 SEA (filed April 8, 2015). Most of those sites have since closed and Amazon has identified and taken action against sellers who used those sites to obtain fake reviews. Amazon is continuing those efforts with this lawsuit against the individuals who provide those fake reviews.
(4) Now, you should finally be at the screen to register/create and EA account. Clicking “submit” never worked for us, so we clicked on the –> to continue. This is when I nearly lost it, after all this work we find out that “The registration key used to instal this game cannot be validated.” If you click on help with registration it just takes you to a page for password recovery. I also tried to look at the technical support mentioned in the back of the book with the DVD for help. I can get to the main page, but there is no content at all.
Most review sites allow the sellers to check out the viewers and approve or disapprove them. I have made a database of the reviewers and make sure I do not send two coupons for the same product to the same person. Most sellers on Amazon are struggling and thefts like this can bring us down completely. I have nothing personal against AmzRC and its owner Andy, but unfortunately he is facilitating this theft and is not willing to rectify it. I just want to warn other sellers before they get burned like me. Andy does not care. Amazon does not care. It is your responsibility to care about yourself”
Through my struggles to find reviewers’ contact info on Amazon, I am going to show you how to make a better Amazon profile, one that helps the supplier choose you over others to try and review their products. This is not a guarantee that you will ever be asked to try a product, but a way that can vastly improve your chances of being asked.
If you’re like me and do get an opportunity to become a Professional Reviewer TRY to remain honest with the people. If you review a NEW Product that’s, “NOT YET READY FOR PRIME TIME.” say so. Both the manufacturers and the customers will be grateful for your honesty. Remember Manufacturers LEARN from their mistakes while customers PAY for theirs.
This is the online guerrilla marketing method of PR. There is a unique benefit of getting product reviews from other websites that helps increase brand credibility and trustworthiness in addition to word-of-mouth marketing.
With products in hand, our reviewers begin the meticulous review process, which includes using most products just as you would. This ensures we’re able to identify and communicate each product’s strengths and weaknesses in a way that makes sense to you.
