What the system needs is a removal of ranking of reviewers and the helpful/unhelpful systems moving the reviewers around on the page (they should all be chronological and sortable by stars). Honestly, I see absolutely no reason to rank reviewers and create a competitive environment. This is about the products, not the people reviewing them, and I say that as a top 1000 reviewer.
With product testing sites, the latter is less common than the first. Furthermore, most sites send coupon codes so they and or the Seller can use the Amazon Seller Center to track usage, and more importantly, get the “Verified purchase” badge on the review.
I’ve been thinking of blogging again for the affiliate possibilities. Problem is, finding a topic. I never got products from companies when I blogged before. What’s the secret — is it the topics covered?
1) Terrible DRM. You can only install the game 5 times. This isn’t a problem unless you share the games, have multiple computers, or upgrade your computer frequently. There is evidently a way to “retrieve” installs, however, I have not used it and cannot give first hand experience. I have heard that the retrieval system does not work particularly well for Mac computers.
Through my struggles to find reviewers’ contact info on Amazon, I am going to show you how to make a better Amazon profile, one that helps the supplier choose you over others to try and review their products. This is not a guarantee that you will ever be asked to try a product, but a way that can vastly improve your chances of being asked.
Thanks, Lynn, for all of your wonderful tips and replies! If you have any experience with some or all of the review sites listed here, we sure could benefit from your feedback and tips. Each page has a comments section for that review site.
As I said in another comment, Vine Voices are selected by Amazon based on the qualities of the reviews the people have written. I see nothing wrong with it; I get free books via NetGalley, which I review because I love books. If I had paid for them, I’d review them in exactly the same way.
These are the best Amazon review sites to choose from. As you will notice, there are many different sites to choose from and each one will have a different product selection to complement your shopping needs.
This is new kid on the block. Launched just this year, it promises free registration and a multitude of products choices. If they deem you suitable for any particular review work, they will notify you through e-mail.
I will bend over backward to find positive things to say about it, and I will paint it as positively as I possibly can. But if it’s less than quality, I’d rather commit to provide you feedback to that extent directly. And simply not say anything Is that okay?
I filled out so many testing item surveys it’s not funny. It’s been s few months and I don’t even get any emails for anything related to the site. It’s not worth it. I also did the surveys for offer bucks.com and you have to have all 10 validated before you get your $100, I have only had one validated and it’s been months. I emailed them twice and never got a response. Don’t waste your time like I did.
I looked around and do not see an Amazon Seller Directory where you can contact Sellers directly. This might be useful to the reviewing community as well as the Seller community. I will look into the feasibility of building such a directory here on The Reviewer Collective. Probably catch hell from Amazon, but we’ll see.
Lum, a genial Canadian, offered this assessment: “The products Amazon shows you are the products that are most profitable for Amazon as a company.” If Amazon were to suddenly do a massive sweep of existing reviews as aggressive as what Fakespot or ReviewMeta might do, you’d suddenly see a lot more products with far fewer reviews, and a lot of customers suddenly uncertain about what exactly to buy.
Spore is a fun game with it’s problems. If the DRM is going to be a huge problem for you I would not recommend the game. If your the hardcore type gamer who is looking for a challenge, your better off finding a different game. If your like me and your looking for a (mostly) simple game with easy and simplified gameplay and fun creation aspects, then this game is definitely suited for you.
While soliciting reviews can seem to take a lot of time and effort, their value cannot be underestimated. Reviews immediately add credibility to your book, communicating to potential customers that it is a worthy read. They also improve your book’s ranking when consumers are searching on Amazon, which is the primary reason to stay committed to getting reviews. If you’re able to move your title into earlier search pages, you’ll be discovered by readers who wouldn’t otherwise find you. And that, hopefully, will translate into more book sales.
The Chinese crap on Amazon is out of control. Not only the non-UL listed electronics, but the sweat-shop clothing that no ethical store would ever import (easily recognized by the measurements being in centimeters and the fractured explanations of how size XXL equals an American/European size S).
Review.Directory is another review site that allows you to sample free products and share your reviews on Amazon or other social media channels. You will be emailed promotions from a campaign director. This can also be a good option for bloggers as some sellers are also wanting to run giveaways. In addition to reviewing the product yourself, you can potentially get paid to help others enjoy the product.
The exact amount is $50.00. I to am an author and have continuously run into this little snag. Over half of my friends and family rarely use Amazon. So when I ask them to leave reviews, they make the attempt. But since they haven’t spent in excess of $50, Amazon won’t allow it. And even if they have, half the time it still won’t go through.
This site launched at the end of July 2016. They show a handful of sample products on their home page: costumes, toys, beauty supplies, electronics, speakers, phone cases, apparel, video camera, and more. Available for reviewers in the UK.
The top reviewers for Amazon have earned their status for a reason; they review everything from books to electronics, and other consumers rank their reviews as useful. While you might assume these reviewers are out of your reach—after all, they likely receive hundreds of requests a day—they are still worth contacting. Even if only a few end up reviewing your book, their reviews could make all the difference.

They send out weekly emails with product to review. Their ‘recently featured products’ looks impressive. Available for reviewers in the USA (with UK, Germany and Canada coming soon. Email them to be added to the non-USA list.
I read some places that you need to be ranked so high to be considered, but I’ve never bothered to verify that, because it won’t affect how I write reviews. I’d love to be a Vine member, but only if an invitation were extended with how I write reviews naturally. That seems in contrast to some Vine reviews I read, which come across as an attempt to market the product.
iLoveToReview offers discounts on many accessory products that cost less than $10. If you like testing charging cables, fashion accessories, or small kitchen tools, you might enjoy iLoveToReview. They also have offers on more expensive items like clothing, cookware, and high-powered flashlights.
